Canvas Outcomes, Rubrics & Reports - Oh My!
2:15 PM - 2:45 PMAbstract
This short presentation on best practices and requirements of Canvas outcomes for system-wide outcome data will save campuses many hours of research and development. Demonstrating the setup and the results will help users replicate this process on their campus. This process is essential for measuring student performance, gathering data, indicating strengths and weaknesses, and choosing actions to improve teaching and learning.
At California Polytechnic State University - SLO, Tonia Malone (Lead Canvas Admin / Instructional Designer) and Eric Mehiel, Ph.D. (AERO chair & faculty) have created an outcome process to support accreditation, university, college, and departmental needs. Canvas Outcomes can collect and compile data on student progress as measured by educational goals and required outcomes within assessments using rubrics.
Multiple campus stakeholders will benefit from learning how Canvas supports system-wide outcomes. We will share how Canvas outcome settings and reports gathered data for ABET accreditation requirements. Resources will be available for additional review.
