The Evolution of Service Delivery and Management and the CMS Hybrid Cloud Transformation

Presentation Abstract

The fast moving and dynamic landscape of the campus communities calls for an application delivery mechanism that can provide services at the speed of demand, with efficiency and cost effectiveness. Traditional server infrastructures are inefficient and no longer sustainable in today’s world. To achieve these objectives, CMS has been undergoing a large-scale hybrid cloud transformation to a software defined infrastructure. This transformation includes moving to an infrastructure as a service model, a new hybrid cloud security framework, and providing the campuses the automated option of running three tier PeopleSoft workloads in either the private and/or public cloud. While complex, the end-result is improved agility, productivity and campus self-service.
In this presentation, team members will discuss the transformation roadmap, as well as, the features that will enhance campus’ access and management of PeopleSoft services in the hybrid cloud environment.
Attendees will learn, not only, about the design and planning of the cloud infrastructure, but, also, about the tooling and utilities now available to the campuses.
