Using iTuffy Learning Assistant to Support Student Learning
Presentation Abstract
The iTuffy Learning Assistant (ILA) is an AI-driven solution designed to transform the student experience. Students have many choices to utilize in class preparation, but the goal of the ILA is to create a tailored experience. The ILA utilizes OpenStax textbooks that are the primary text in courses to query different topics in support of the class material, sharing videos that are relevant. Through integration of the class schedule the ILA is also able to understand what content is currently being reviewed in class. This session will include a live-demo of the ILA and a discussion around the best practices in creating these AI-driven solutions for our students. We will discuss the different features of the ILA and how they were tested, reviewed, and implemented. We will also do a brief review of the iTuffy chatbot which hosts this solution.
