San Diego State University set out to modernize its identity management system to deal with the ever-increasing reliance on identity in the cloud-based world. Come see how SDSU manages the various identity systems that together deliver a reliable IdM platform for students, faculty and staff known as SDSUid. The environment utilizes an Azure-based custom solution for account management and automation along with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory as identity stores. These services provide the foundation to manage our collaboration suites (G Suite and Office 365) and provide authentication and conditional access to our 60,000 user accounts and over 90 integrated apps. Together these solutions support our current as well as our future needs as identity shifts from on-premises to cloud.
