Nominations open in March and close in May

CALL FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS

It’s time to submit your award nominations for the 2019 Cal State Tech Conference!
  • The conference will take place July 30 - August 1 in San Diego.
  • The theme of the conference is ’Connectivity’. 
  • Nominations will be accepted through May 7, 2019.

Nominations Are Now Open for the 2019 Tech Awards 

The Cal State Tech Conference Tech Awards recognize excellence and outstanding contributions by campuses, project teams and individuals across several areas. 

Help us celebrate these achievements by submitting a nomination for one of our Tech Awards. You may choose among the following categories:

Award Categories

Emerging Campus Technology Leader (peer-to-peer award)

  • A technology leader who work with peers across the academic enterprise to solve pressing institutional challenges
  • Effectively lead teams to work together towards a common goal by inspiring others
  • Cultivates environment of accountability, trust, respect, and inclusivity 

Evolving Infrastructure, Services, and/or Sustainability

  • Implementing next generation enterprise solutions including cloud computing
  • Evolving services and/or infrastructure to support student identified technologies

Innovation in Teaching, Learning, and/or Accessibility

  • Integration of new technology in traditional classroom, hybrid, online, or technology-assisted courses

Innovation in Research 

  • Implement projects or initiatives in collaboration with faculty to support research

Organizational Growth, Change, and Leadership

  • Create a culture of growth and diversity that is innovative and sustainable. 
  • Creating new professional opportunities to develop new skills and train future leaders. 
  • Fostering an inclusive culture that is open to new ideas, perspectives, and individuals. 
  • Creating opportunities for women and under-represented groups

Student Experience and Success  

  • Implement solutions to engage the digitally native students
  • Implement solutions that make the business of being a student easy
  • Implement projects or initiatives that enhance 4 year graduation rates
  • Implement solutions, projects, or initiatives that address student needs outside of the classroom

Transforming/Disrupting the Organizations Through Technology

  • Manage organizational transformation through effective change management
  • Manage transition from established less than productive processes to a new efficient technical solutions
  • Introduction of systems, methodologies, and cultural elements that fundamentally change the way the campus operates, particularly with its students

Questions/Criteria

  • Describe the initiative and how it specifically relates to your nomination
  • Describe the impact or potential impact of the initiative 
  • Who was involved in implementing the initiative?
  • What technologies, if any, were used to support this initiative?
For nominations that pass the first round of review, the committee will ask for documentation that supports the project.

AWARDS

Winners will be recognized at the Cal State Tech Conference Awards Dinner to be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego
 
Nominations may be submitted through the Cal State Tech Awards portal on the Conference website. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, May 7, 2019.
